Magdalena of Canossa is an Italian who claims to be a religious figure

Magdalena of Canossa is an Italian who claims to be a religious figure and is also the founder of two Canossian churches. Magdalena witnessed the spillover effect of the French Revolution on the Italian peninsula through Napoleon’s invasion of the northern territory, and became the main advocate of the poor in her area. Canossa, in cooperation with humanists such as Leopoldina Naudet and Antonio Rosmini, is committed to promoting the needs of the poor and developing a new way of religious life for men and women. On December 7, 1941, she was listed as a true blessing in Rome, and later was canonized as a saint in St. Peter’s Square on October 2, 1988. Taking advantage of her legacy, she began her charitable work among the poor and the sick, hospitals and their homes, as well as among criminal and abandoned girls. On April 1, 1808, she got an abandoned monastery, where she took in two poor girls from the slums near San Zeno to take care of them and provide them with proper education. A month later, on May 8, she moved out of her ancestral palace and into the present St. Joseph’s Monastery. Other women soon joined her and formed the Canosis Daughters’ Association with them. In May 1810, the servant of Father Antonio Angelo and Brother Marco Antonio Cavanis invited her to Venice to cooperate. At the same time, her uncle Girolamo died in July 1814 and entrusted his motherless son Kalino to her care. You can take a look at this bronze Saint Magdalene of Canossa sculpture. Her canonization began under the leadership of Pope Pius IX

Her canonization began under the leadership of Pope Pius IX. She was awarded the title of God’s servant, and later recognition of her exemplary life of heroic virtue led Pope Pius XI to name her honorable on January 6, 1927. On December 7, 1941, Pope Pius XII presided over her Blessing at St. Peter’s Cathedral. Her Liefu depended on a miracle, which was attributed to her mediation. From January 13 to March 6, 1955, before the Etiquette Department verified the information investigation process in Rome on November 25, she was investigated. However, the cause is still at a standstill. Because the reform of the canonization procedure in 1983 meant that miracles were evaluated in different ways. But it recovered on July 1, 1987, when a medical team approved it, as did the theologians on October 16, 1987 and the members of the Saints’ Church on November 17, 1987. Pope John Paul II approved the miracle on December 11, 1987, and presided over the canonization ceremony of Ganoza in St. Peter’s Square on October 2, 1988.
