St. Helen was the mother of St. Constantine the Great. She found the true cross in Christian legend.She is regarded as a saint in both the Catholic and Orthodox churches.The marble statue shows her holding a large crucifix with her right hand, her left open, and looking forward with a determined, melancholy gaze.Her hair was beautifully sculpted, and her dress was beautifully sculpted.
