Saint Anne is traditionally recognized as the mother of the Virgin Mary
Saint Anne is traditionally recognized as the mother of the Virgin Mary and the grandmother of Jesus. In the Apocryphal Gospel of James, she married Saint Joachim and gave birth to the Virgin Mary in Severus. There are two schools of thought among theologians about her life. One school thinks she was married only once, the other three times. According to St. John of Damascus, St. Anne was married only once, to St. Joachim. According to medieval legend, she was married three times. And each of them bore three daughters, The Virgin Mary, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Salome. Her sister, Sobe, was Elizabeth’s mother. You can take a look at our large catholic statues for churches. This is St. Anne reading with Mary.
Anne was much respected and loved in Europe
There’s nothing in the Bible about Anne. Many of the stories that are told today were told by early Christians by word of mouth. Anne was much respected and loved in Europe as the mother of a famous daughter, Mary, and a grandson, Jesus. More than 300 years ago, French immigrants brought their admiration for this great mother and grandmother to New France when they crossed the Atlantic to North America. Church architecture has been known as “art of art”. St. Anne’s church’s sculptures, paintings, stained glass, and Mosaic murals are the work of great Quebec and Canadian artists of the era. We also have many famous religious sculptures for you to choose from. If you are interested in it, welcome to contact us.
